MOVEMENT
Veins and clouds give the surface a visual rhythm and help determine the best orientation.

XWS STONE / MATERIAL NOTES
OUR GUIDE TO MARBLE
Marble is not a printed pattern or a repeatable finish. Veining, depth, fissures and gentle shifts in tone are part of its natural identity. Our role is to understand those differences and let them guide the design.

LOOK CLOSELY
Two slabs from one block can still feel completely different. A deep vein may become the centre of a table, while a quieter field can bring calm to a vanity or console.
In our local collection, materials such as Calacatta Viola, Rosso Francia, travertine and onyx are selected for the way their movement works with a room—not because every surface looks the same.

These are the details we consider before a slab becomes part of an XWS piece.
Veins and clouds give the surface a visual rhythm and help determine the best orientation.
Warm, cool, pale and dramatic tones change the atmosphere around a piece.
Honed, polished and textured finishes create different ways to meet the stone every day.
The material informs the silhouette, so the final object feels balanced rather than forced.
LIVE WITH THE MATERIAL
Marble is made to be used. Small changes over time are part of the conversation between a surface, a room and the people who share it. For practical guidance, visit our local care page.
